Specifically, we need our security guards to pass the TPS MLEO certification program. To pass, you'll probably need to attend classes in person or complete an online course. You'll need to complete your course with an approved training provider. Depending on the type of employment you're seeking, some parts of your course will need to be completed in person. For example, CPR requires in-person training.

To work as a security guard in Ontario, you need to apply for your Ontario security guard license. This involves completing a challenging application that you then post in the mail. You'll need the number you were allocated upon passing your TPS MLEO test to do this.
In our experience, it can take up to 30 days for applications to be processed. During that time, you may want to start looking at the types of jobs available to you.
